Rio Restaurant Week On Again: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Rio Restaurant Week has come to the Cidade Maravilhosa for its ninth edition and will last until November 3rd. The culinary festival offers a great opportunity to try new eateries around town as they offer special menus at competitive prices.

The event that kicked off on October 21st, brings together 61 restaurants that offer two specially chosen fixed-price menu with starters, main dish and dessert for lunch (R$34.90) and dinner (R$47.90). Drinks and services (usually ten percent) are not included in the price.

Among the participating restaurants are Leblon’s Asian cuisine spot Mekong, offering the choice between Indonesian rice dish Nasi Goreng and Thai Massaman Curry as main dish of its lunch combination and Japanese Sushi oasis Nik Sushi in Ipanema with a sushi and sashimi combination or a tempura menu for dinner.

Also partaking are Mexican restaurant Si Señor with its three locations in Ipanema, Leblon and Barra da Tijuca presenting the choice between tacos and burritos as the main dish and Mexican popular nachos or Chili con carne as entry-course, and French-fusion spots Mira! offering dinner and Oui Oui serving lunch in Botafogo and Humaitá respectively.

The Restaurant Week event, which originated in New York, is a great way to tour restaurants in Rio de Janeiro and discover the often unknown culinary diversity of the city and try more exclusive places, while paying a fixed price.
