MÚSICA BRASILEIRA:
Forró da Balança (Leme) – Tonight, there will be live Forró and a DJ on Praia do Leme just up the road from Copacabana along Avenida Atlantica.
Forró da Balança are well-known for bringing the spirit of North-Eastern Brazil to Rio de Janeiro.
This is a free event, but the band and DJ rely on contributions in order to keep putting on free live music, so they ask that contributions are made when the hat is passed around.
Things will get started at 4PM but usually the festivities carry on well into the night.

Wilson Meireles at Rayz (Ipanema) – Wilson Meireles is one of the great Brazilian drummers, considered a pioneer of Brazilian instrumental music.
He has played with famous names such as Elis Regina, Tim Maia and Gilberto Gil. And tonight he will be at Rayz performing a repertoire that ranges from Miles Davis to Tom Jobim, from Hermeto Pascoal to Cartola, while also encompassing Thelonius Monk, Charley Parker and other legends.
This is one not to miss, and for only R$10 cover charge, it’s also a bargain!

MÚSICA BRASILEIRA:
Arraiá dos Guimarães (Santa Teresa) – Another great arraiá to add to this weekend’s list. Arraiá dos Guimarães is all about the samba, with Roberta Espinosa performing this Saturday evening.
There will be traditional festive food, cakes, quadrilhas (square-dancing) and much more, including a forró (traditional Brazilian music played during June festivities) trio to entertain the crowd in between the samba.
People are encouraged to wear their best June outfit.

With chilled out vibes during the week and a selection of top DJs playing shows at the weekends, the newly-opened Yndú Lounge in Ipanema is a great option to kick back. With a selection of drinks and tapas, the bar is quickly becoming one of Leblon’s best watering holes.
