The Strokes and Gorillaz headline Primavera Sound São Paulo at the Autódromo de Interlagos on Saturday, 5 December, and Sunday, 6 December. Tickets went on sale at Ingresse, the festival’s official ticket platform, in July.

Primavera Sound São Paulo is a two-day music festival at the Interlagos race track, in the south of Brazil’s largest city. It takes place on Saturday, 5 December, and Sunday, 6 December 2026, and dozens of acts are on the bill.

41 national polls from 20 pollsters since 4 October, updated hourly. Every poll, free to download.

For US visitors it is a summer trip in the southern hemisphere, with a visa to arrange first. This guide covers the line-up, ticket prices, the way to the track and what is still not confirmed.

What Primavera Sound Is

Primavera Sound began in Barcelona and is known for a wide mix of indie, pop, electronic and experimental acts. The Brazilian edition is produced by Bonus Track in co-production with the international brand, Correio da Manhã reported.

Billboard Brasil describes the 2023 edition, held on 2 and 3 December at Interlagos, as the second in São Paulo. Correio da Manhã calls the 2026 festival a return, and this guide did not confirm whether editions were held in between.

The 2026 festival is on the city’s official events calendar and has support from municipal bodies and mobility partners. Organisers expect thousands of people over the two days, but no capacity figure was published.

The Line-Up Day by Day

On Saturday, 5 December, the festival’s top row lists The Strokes, FKA twigs and Lily Allen. Also on the bill are CMAT, Courtney Barnett, Nation of Language, Black Pantera, Johnny Hooker, Josyara, Zé Ibarra and Gab Ferreira.

On Sunday, 6 December, the top row lists Gorillaz, Arca and Yung Lean. Also playing are underscores, Smerz, ATARASHII GAKKO!, Gaby Amarantos, Ana Frango Elétrico, Duquesa, Julia Mestre and Carlos do Complexo.

Rolling Stone Brasil lists 16 international acts it says will play the festival exclusively, including The Strokes, Lily Allen, Gorillaz and Arca. Its report gave no set times or stage assignments.

In Plain English

The Strokes are a New York rock band that rose in the early 2000s. Gorillaz are a British virtual band, with cartoon members, led by musician Damon Albarn.

Lily Allen and FKA twigs are British singers, and Arca is a Venezuelan electronic producer. Black Pantera is a Brazilian heavy rock trio, and Gaby Amarantos is a pop singer from northern Brazil.

Tickets and Prices

Ingresse is the ticket platform named by the festival, and sales opened on 28 July after a bank-card presale. Two types exist: Primavera Day for one day, and Primavera Pass for both days.

Regional outlets listed first-tier prices of BRL 850.50 (about US$169) for one day and BRL 1,530.90 (about US$304) for a pass. Buying two single days would cost BRL 1,701 (about US$337), so the pass saves about US$34.

Half-price tickets, called meia-entrada, cost half of full price and need proof of eligibility. They were listed at BRL 425.25 (about US$84) for one day and BRL 765.45 (about US$152) for the pass.

A third tier, called solidário, was listed at BRL 552.83 (about US$110) for one day and BRL 995.09 (about US$197) for both. The conditions for this tier were not found.

The VIP area was sold only in the general sale and lists at BRL 2,050.50 (about US$407) for full price. Rolling Stone Brasil and Billboard Brasil say it adds an open bar, open food, venue transfer and a view over the stages.

Billboard Brasil and ABC do ABC list a 20% fee on online sales and a limit of four tickets per CPF. The CPF is the Brazilian taxpayer number, and ABC do ABC says box-office sales carry no fee.

Conversions use BRL 5.04 per US dollar, the open.er-api.com rate of 24 October 2026, and are rounded. Later price tiers may be higher than the July prices, which this guide could not check on Ingresse.

Interlagos and How to Get There

The Autódromo de Interlagos, also called the José Carlos Pace track, sits on Avenida Senador Teotônio Vilela, 261, in southern São Paulo. Gates are listed at 12:30 p.m. on both days.

Billboard Brasil’s 2023 guide said the nearest station is Autódromo on Line 9 Esmeralda, about 850 metres from the venue. No 2026 train plan was found, though ViaMobilidade, which runs Line 9, is listed as a festival mobility partner.

In 2023 a timed express train ran only from Pinheiros station, according to the same guide. Whether express trains will run in December 2026 had not been confirmed.

Safety, Entry Rules and Costs for US Visitors

The State Department rates Brazil Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, in an update dated 31 August 2026. It warns that violent crime occurs in urban areas, day and night.

The advisory says passengers face a higher robbery risk on public buses, especially at night. It describes express kidnappings in which victims are forced to withdraw cash or transfer money through apps such as Pix.

US citizens have needed a Brazilian visa since 10 April 2025, with an e-visa available to qualified applicants. Passport validity and cash declaration rules were not confirmed for this guide, so check them with a Brazilian consulate.

The festival’s age rating is 16, according to Rolling Stone Brasil and ABC do ABC. Children aged 5 to 15 need a parent or guardian, under-fives are barred, and a juvenile court permit can change this.

Brazil does not use daylight saving time, and São Paulo is three hours behind UTC. That makes it two hours ahead of New York in December, so 12:30 p.m. there is 10:30 a.m. Eastern.

A guide from a Brazilian travel insurer expects heat and a chance of rain in December. It suggests comfortable shoes, a thin rain jacket, sunscreen and a small bag that is easy to search.

What It Means for You

For a US fan, the main costs are the visa, flights and a ticket, from about US$169 for one full-price day. A pass for both days costs about US$304 at the same tier.

Expats in São Paulo can reach Interlagos by train from the west and centre of the city. Anyone staying near Line 9 stations, such as Pinheiros or Santo Amaro, has the simplest ride.

What Is Not Known

No set times, stage maps or sold-out status were found for either day. Current prices on Ingresse were not checked, because its page could not be opened for this guide.

It is not confirmed whether Ingresse accepts a US passport instead of a CPF, or whether foreign student cards get half price. The terms of the solidário tier, refund rules and the December 2026 train plan are also unconfirmed.

What Comes Next

Organisers are expected to publish set times and transport plans closer to the festival. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, 5 December, which is 10:30 a.m. in New York.
