Lagoa Bier Fest Returns to Rio this Weekend with Music and Food

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Lagoa Bier Fest is back to Rio this weekend. From this Friday, October 20th, to Sunday, October 22nd, the free fair takes place at Parque dos Patins, in Lagoa, gathering over thirty food trucks and artisanal beer stalls. There will also be pop, rock and MPB shows on the three days of event.

Attracting people from all ages, Lagoa Bier Fest is known among Rio’s Zona Sul residents for its great quality culinary options and selected beer labels, all accompanied by free live music.

Tonight, band Licor do Canavial opens the event with rock music from the 1960s, at 8PM.

Composed of Felipe Lauria (vocal and electric guitar), João Mattos (vocal and guitar), Caio Barreto (electric guitar), Gabriel Carvalho (vocal and bass) and Léo Novo (drums), the group will bring some Beatles, Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival to its repertoire.

Known from Brazil’s pop rock scene from the 1980s, singer Sylvinho Blau Blau will perform on Saturday at 6PM. The former member of Absyntho (a famous Brazilian band in the 1980s) will present classic hits from that time. Legião Urbana’s “Tempo Perdido”, Cazuza’s “Exagerado”, Radio Taxi’s “Garota Dourada” and Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction” are a little Silvinho Blau Blau promises to bring to his show.

On Sunday, singer and guitarist Bernardo Ritto goes up on Lagoa Bier Fest’s stage at 6:30 PM. Known for his eclectic repertoire, Ritto will include both pop music and sertanejo universitário (contemporary Brazilian folk music) in his performance.

Among the diverse culinary options at Lagoa Bier Fest, Vulcano’s and Larica’s homemade burgers, Oinc Point’s pork based dishes, Brigadeiro Chef’s gourmet brigadeiros (chocolate based dessert) and Alemão’s German snacks are certainly some of the good ones.

Great beer labels will also be present at the event, like Barril, Saidera, Mistura, Kruger/Grizas, 2 Irmãos and Hop Lab. What’s more, chef Felipe Bronze will participate in the event for the first time. Renowned for his talent in the Brazilian contemporary cuisine, Bronze signes the dishes served at the food truck Pipo.

Free activities for children will be offered on Sunday, at 11PM, led by recreational group Pano Pra Manga.
