Lagoa Bier Fest Holds Second Edition July 8th to July 10th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Lagoa Bier Fest will return to the Rio de Janeiro neighborhood of Lagoa for a second edition on Friday, July 8th, Saturday, July 9th, and Sunday, July 10th. This time taking place at Parque da Catacumba, the festival will once again feature offerings from breweries across the country, food trucks and vendors, and live music.

Created by Cariocas (Rio residents) Gueta Ridzi and Alex Ribeiro and Argentinian expat Luis Selva as a way to highlight what the city has to offer, the first edition of Lagoa Bier Fest took place earlier this year in June in Lagoa‘s Parque dos Patins.

“We wanted to revitalize areas of the city, making culture and street food are available to everyone,” Ridzi said in a statement released in June. “We are close to the Olympics, the city is swarming with tourists, nothing better than to bring outdoor programs that leverage the look of the city.”

This edition will feature beers from the breweries: Irada, Green Lab Craft Brewery, Brassaria Ampolis, Donna, Fraga, Hija de Punta, Labrinto, Secreta, Mistura Clássica, Malte Carioca, Matocarioca, Paulaner, Paulistanea, 4 Folhas, and the Niterói brewery, Noi.

Food during the festival will be available from: Espírito de Porco, Nomade, Hare Burguer, Kituteria, Big Head, Dona Sebastiana, Larica, Mamma Buchi, Carango, Vulcano, Sabor Doc – Malta, Burgertopia, Oinc, Las Empandas, Creperia Cliche, Adega do Pimenta, Rosita, and Fred Maeyer.

Additionally, the band Licor do Canavial will perform live on Saturday, July 9th at 6PM and then again on Sunday, July 10th at 5PM.
