Head of U.S. Pacific Fleet meets with Peruvian Navy’s High Command in Lima
The U.S. Navy has sent a delegation to Peru to hold meetings with the Peruvian Navy and senior officials of the Andean country’s defense sector, which took place on October 26 and 27 in Lima.
The delegation was led by none other than Admiral Samuel Paparo, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Rear Admiral James Aiken, commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command (4th Fleet), accompanied by Captain Donald Marks, Commander Rebecca Rebarich, Commander Randall Jones, First Lieutenant Anita Stark, 1st Technician Omar Villanueva, 1st Lieutenant Stephanie Morales and 1st Supervisory Technician Roberto Florentino.
The Military Advisory and Assistance Group of the U.S. Embassy in Peru confirmed the visit of the important U.S. naval delegation.
The request for its entry into Peruvian territory has been processed at different levels of the Ministry of Defense to inform the Congress of the Republic.
The naval officers of the U.S. Navy have confidence-building activities, planning of future military exercises, training programs, coordination meetings for future bilateral activities, and protocol meetings.
As commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Paparo commands a fleet of more than 200 ships and submarines, 1,200 aircraft, and more than 130,000 sailors and civilian personnel. Paparo is a naval aviator who graduated from the Top Gun school and has accumulated over 6,000 flight hours and some 1,100 carrier landings.
