Graffiti Artist Eduardo Kobra Inaugurates Ayrton Senna Mural in Imola, Italy

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – After a week of work, São Paulo street artist Eduardo Kobra on Friday, September 20th, inaugurated the mural dedicated to the pilot Ayrton Senna (1960-1994) at the Italian circuit of Ímola, about the tragedy that took the life of the three-time Formula 1 champion.

The panel is 21 meters long and seven meters high and was painted on the façade of the Checco Costa Museum, a few meters from the old Tamburello curve where Senna beat Williams at the San Marino Grand Prix, on May 1st, 1994.

The work is inspired by the moments when Senna bowed to the skies to thank his victories. The work is voluntary, but Kobra received permission from the Ayrton Senna Institute.

Kobra became famous for his colorful murals that feature urban landscapes around the world and for his activism on social and climate change issues. A fan of the Brazilian pilot, the 44-year-old artist has painted about 10 murals depicting Senna.

In the same place as the new panel, a temporary exhibition tells the story of the three-time F1 champion through an innovative narration with a multi-sensory environment. In the exhibition “Ayrton Magico – A Alma beyond the limits”, it is possible to see cars, video helmets, interviews, and images representing Senna’s career in an interactive way.

The tribute to the Brazilian driver after 25 years since his death will be on display until November 30th. Tickets cost between 13 and 19 Euros.
