Built by British expatriate Bob Nadkarni over thirty years ago, The Maze, despite various obstacles, continues to rally and is going strong.
Tonight Joel Ferreira, Rowena Jameson, Indiana Nomma, Vanessa Rodrigues, José Arimatéa, Torn Ashe, Marcelo Pfeil, Aureo Luis and André Froes will perform live from 10PM to 3:30AM during the very special and always lively monthly event.
Located in the Tavares Bastos favela community, The Maze overlooks the city of Rio and offers breathtaking views of the famous landmarks of Pão de Acúçar and the Guanabara Bay. Additionally, with it`s unique labyrinthine architecture, designed and built by Nadkarni, the venue is a tourist attraction in an of itself.
You can check out all of this tonight, in addition to hearing some of the best live jazz that you can find anywhere in the city.

Rael and Bixga 70 (Lapa)
Tonight Brazilian rapper Rael returns to Cico Voador to perform live in celebration of the release of his most recent album, Diversoficando. Additionally, the group Bixiga 70 will perform tonight, launching their latest album, Bixiga 70 III.

Village Jockey Club (Gávea)
Tonight the Village Jockey Club festival will present the Grand Opening party featuring a live performance by American rapper Jeremih and performances by Diana Bouth, BlackHaus Crew, Pathy DeJesus, and Bernardo Campos. The festival began yesterday in the Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro in Gávea and will continue through the 21st with both international and national musicians and bands performing live, as well as parties, food, food trucks and more.

Tonight the CAVE club in Aproador will host the Let’s Dance party with DJs João Rodrigo, David Levy, and Haron Dufau spinning the best of pop, rock, hip hop and more. VJ Velinho will provide visuals and Marchinho will serve as emcee during the night.

It’s time for the best of tech and deep house as Fosfobox in Copacabana presents the Acid Fruits party tonight with special guest Ricardo Farhat. Also spinning in the subsolo (basement) during the night will be Tamar Sabadini and Dan Lypher plus a special back-to-back set with Ricardo Estrella and Felipe Fella. Additionally during the night, DJs André Menezes and Gabriel Mattos will spin back-to-back at the Fosfobar.

Tonight the Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the Headphone party with DJs Gigga, Felipe Guga, Marck, and D-Groov spinning during the night. With its location on the rooftop of the Pestana Rio Atlântica hotel facing the famous Copacabana beach, The Top of Pestana venue offers a unique and sophisticated environment. The space previously hosted Rio Music Conference (RMC) events and was home to the BudHotel events during last year’s World Cup tournament.

As the weather cools down, Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz will attempt to heat things up with the Rockaway party, Junina edition. DJs Grazzia, Arlei Hey Hey, and special guest Sal will spin on the first floor while DJs Polly and Ivy will spin on the second floor. Shots of cachaça with honey will be distributed from the stage throughout the night and promotions will include two for one specials until 1AM on four drinks: Mojito, Caipirinha, Cuba Libre and Hi-Fi.

At 8PM, the group Nó na Madeira will start off the night at Rio Scenarium with the best of samba. The group Toque de Arte will follow at 11PM with more classic samba and to close out the night, the group Xique, Xique will perform the best of forró live from 2:30AM until the sunrise.

The Lapafest party returns to the Leviano bar in Lapa tonight with singer Lucas de Morae starting things off tonight on the first floor with a lively roda de samba including his reinterpretations of works by João Mogueira, Zeca Pagodinho, and Jorge Aragão. Bloco Picada de Primeira will follow with more samba plus the best of MPB, soul, funk and samba reggae. Addtionally during the night on the second floor, the power trio Johnny’s will perform the best of International pop rock. DJs Márlio and Aílton Areas will spin the best of samba, sambalanço, funk, hip hop and electronic during show intervals

At 7:30 PM Márcia Guedes will get things started at Carioca da Gema tonight. Gabriel Teixeira will follow at 9:30 PM.
