Brazilian beef exports with volume and revenue decline in H1 2023
The Brazilian Association of Refrigerators (Abrafrigo) reported a slight decrease in the volume and a notable drop in the value of Brazilian beef exports for the first half of 2023.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2022, exports fell by 1%, from 1,085,595 tons to 1,076,780 tons.
The value of these exports saw a 21% decline, dropping from US$6.230 billion in H1 2022 to US$4.937 billion in H1 2023.

While June 2023 showed a 34% increase in volume of beef exports, the revenue was 4.73% lower compared to June 2022.
China, being the primary importer of Brazilian beef, imported 136,902 tons of beef in June 2023, a rise from the previous year.
However, the total revenue generated from China in H1 2023 was US$2.612 billion from 518,350 tons of beef, marking a drop of 4.6% in volume and 29% in revenue from H1 2022.
