Brazil sets oil and gas production record for the 2nd time

The national oil and natural gas production has surpassed the mark of 4 million barrels per day for the 2nd time in history.

In September, the country produced approximately 4.05 million barrels per day, informed the ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels) on Thursday (Oct. 20, 2002).

The barrier was surpassed for the 1st time in January 2020, when 4.04 million barrels per day were extracted.

According to the agency’s data, 74% of the total extracted in September came from the pre-salt.

Petrobras accounted for 66% of national production in the month.

Behind the Brazilian state-owned company are Shell (12.3%), Equinor (3.7%), and Petrogal (3.4%).

In the month, 887,700 barrels per day were extracted in the Tupi field.
