Joinville wins title of best city in Brazil

Joinville in Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil, also won an award from Sebrae with the Joinville for People project, which includes, among other factors, economic development and well-being.

Joinville was the winning city in the Best Cities of Brazil 2022 ranking, an initiative of “Isto É” magazine. According to the publication, Joinville had first place overall and led the list of large cities, thus receiving the title of Best City in Brazil.

“This conquest is the result of the effort and dedication of our committed team of servers, a team that does not measure efforts to offer a city of excellence to the Joinville citizens,” emphasizes mayor Adriano Silva.

The Best Cities in Brazil ranking is an initiative of Editora Três and Austin Rating. The list considers public data from 5,565 Brazilian cities and is divided into four categories.

General, Large, Medium, and Small. With first place in the General and Large categories, with 281 points, Joinville was the absolute winner of the ranking.

In the article “Joinville, the portrait of a champion city”, the publication highlights several city characteristics, such as its focus on people and culture, emphasizing the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil and the Dance Festival.

REFERENCE IN HEALTH, INNOVATION, AND SANITATION

Joinvasc, Joinville’s public program for stroke treatment, was the winner of the VBHVC (Value-Based Health Care) Prize 2021, being elected the world’s best Value-Based Health Care program for that year.

In addition to the main award, Joinvasc was also the winner in the open to the community category, getting more than 55% of the votes received in the popular vote.

The Decision Institute from Holland organizes the Value-Based Health Care Prize. Companhia Águas de Joinville also won the Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure 2021 in the Water, Sewerage, and Drainage Systems category, with the Hydraulic Simulation project.

The only representative from Brazil, the Joinville sanitation company, was the winner in one of the 19 competition categories, competing against nearly 300 projects submitted by 230 organizations from 45 countries.

Joinville was also ranked third overall in the Connected Smart Cities 2021 Ranking in the economic area.

TERRITORIAL MARKETING AND ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP

Joinville is considered a model in Territorial Marketing and Entrepreneurial Leadership after winning the award promoted by Sebrae.

The city won with the project “Joinville for People”, which includes actions such as incentives to entrepreneurs, revitalization of public spaces, laws, promotion of events, and articulation of the city’s forces for economic development and well-being.

It was the 11th edition of the award Prefeito Empreendedor (“Entrepreneurial Mayor”), staged in Santa Catarina.
