Bolsonaro says he intends to return to Brazil “in the coming weeks”
Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL, conservative) has said he intends to return to Brazil “in the coming weeks.”
The statement was made last Friday (Feb. 3) in an interview on Charlie Kirk’s podcast.
Bolsonaro also said that he would make “responsible opposition” against the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT, progressive-globalist).

“I intend in the coming weeks to return [to Brazil] and make responsible opposition against the current government,” the politician said in an excerpt from the interview on social media.
Also on Friday, the former president attended an event hosted by Kirk in the United States, where he has been since Dec. 30.
“I have to continue in politics. It is that [activity] I discovered myself, perhaps a little late.”
“But because of the absence of right-wing leaders in Brazil, I see myself obligated to coordinate these new leaders that have emerged so that Brazil doesn’t plunge once and for all into socialism or communism,” he added.
