Brazil approves cooperation with Ethiopia, Indonesia, Benin, Jordan, and Suriname

The Technical Cooperation Agreement between Brazil and Ethiopia will promote socioeconomic and sustainable development.

Brazil’s treaty with Indonesia is in agriculture, livestock, health, education, and professional qualification, among others.

The Plenary also approved the Agreement on Air Services between Brazil and Benin.

Brazil’s agreement with Jordan provides for technical cooperation in several areas, and the Agreement on Cooperation and Facilitation of Investments between Brazil and Suriname will facilitate investments in both countries.

According to the rapporteur, Carlos Portinho, of the Rio de Janeiro Liberal Party (PL, right), the Technical Cooperation Agreement between Brazil and Ethiopia, signed in 2012, will strengthen bilateral ties of friendship and promote socioeconomic and sustainable development.

On the other hand, Brazil’s treaty with Indonesia is in the areas of agriculture, livestock, health, education, and professional qualification, among others.

According to the document signed in 2018, the public and private sectors of the two countries will be able to count on the exchange of advisors, consultants, experts, and technicians, information, studies, and research results.

The Plenary also approved the Agreement on Air Services between Brazil and Benin, which includes an authorization for overflight without landing and stopovers for non-commercial purposes and exemption from taxes and fees.

The text also allows cooperation in the field of trade and tourism. The rapporteur, Senator Júlio Ventura, from the PDT of Ceará, highlighted Brazil’s gains with the agreement.

Indeed, the agreement conveyed by the PDL party, by instituting a legal framework for air transport services between Brazil and Benin, if ratified, will constitute an important tool for strengthening the ties of friendship between the two signatory countries, with the prospect of increasing cooperation in the field of trade and tourism.

Brazil’s 2018 agreement with Jordan also provides technical cooperation in several areas, including agriculture, health, education, and professional training, in addition to issuing visas, extradition, and tax exemption.

The Agreement on Cooperation and Facilitation of Investments between Brazil and Suriname was also approved.

Dated 2018, the text defines facilities for investors from both countries, ensuring the most advantageous local tax regime.

The agreement deals with the economic, political, social, and cultural integration of the peoples of Latin America to strengthen the Latin American community.
