Bitcoin Whales Pounce As ETF Money Flees And Fear Grips Crypto
Bitcoin’s latest slide under $90,000 has turned into one of the tensest weeks of 2025 for digital assets, with big money quietly buying even as regulated funds head for the exit.
BTC briefly fell below 90,000 for the first time in seven months before rebounding toward 92,000, leaving its market value near $1.8 trillion and dragging the wider crypto market to roughly $3.1–3.2 trillion.
The trigger has been fading expectations of rapid US interest-rate cuts. As traders priced in higher-for-longer borrowing costs, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States logged their fifth straight day of redemptions, including a record single-day outflow of more than half a billion dollars from BlackRock’s flagship fund.
Ethereum products also saw sustained withdrawals. Yet on-chain data suggest deep-pocketed buyers are treating the drop as an opportunity.
Market-intelligence firm Santiment says Bitcoin whale activity is on track for its busiest week of the year, with more than 102,000 transactions above $100,000 already recorded and a further 29,000 trades over $1 million.

Technically, Bitcoin remains in a clear daily downtrend, trading below its Ichimoku cloud and major moving averages and hugging the lower Bollinger Band.
Crypto shows early rebound signs amid extreme fear
Daily RSI sits just above traditional oversold territory, while MACD remains negative but is starting to flatten. On the four-hour chart, momentum has turned more constructive, with a mild rebound and early buy signals suggesting a short-term relief rally inside a broader bearish structure.
The pain has been uneven across major coins. Ethereum is holding tenuously around $3,000 after a month-long slide, XRP has broken key support near 2.15, and Litecoin has slipped back into the low-90s despite record network hashrate.
Solana is the standout, trading around $143 and supported by new exchange-traded products that continue to attract speculative interest.
With sentiment gauges flashing “extreme fear” and leverage largely flushed out, markets are caught between ETF-driven selling and whale-led accumulation — a tug-of-war that will decide whether this is merely a sharp correction or the start of a deeper reset.
