Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Watch the live broadcast of the World Cup semi-final between Holland and Argentina today at 5PM on Copacabana beach at the FIFA Fan Fest in Rio.
The 31,000 m² area on the beach between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier houses a large screen to view the match live and a stage for entertainers that, during the tournament, have included; Sorriso Maroto, Dudu Nobre, Arlindo Cruz, Anitta, Sandra de Sá, Bom Gosto, Suvaco de Cristo, Cordão da Bola Preta, Fogo e Paixão, Bloco Brasil, Empolga às Nove, and Blitz, among others.
The Fan Fest area opens two hours before the match and will close at 10PM. Capacity for the area is 20,000. Entry is free and entrance will be granted according to order of arrival.

It’s time again for Karaokê Indie at Botafogo’s Casa da Matriz. Tonight it’s a special Neon, Rave! edition and Green Apple party with electronic music. On the first floor, for the special Rave edition, the venue will distribute five hundred gifts that will lit up the darkness including; bracelets, necklaces, rings, glow sticks and more. There will also be neon paint kits and black lights to make everything glow neon while you sing your heart out to the large karaoke selection. Meanwhile, on the second floor, the Green Apple Party will feature DJs Abrahin and Hannickel spinning the best of electronic music all night long. Additionally, until midnight there will be a dose dupla (two for one) promotion on five drinks; caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-Fi, Mate-me Por Favor, and Sex on the Beach.

Exeperience Brazil’s rich musical history at Casarão Ameno Resedá in Catete tonight. Throughout the month of July on Wednesday and Sunday nights (with the exception of Sunday, July 13th and Wednesday, July 16th ), the venue will hold Ginga Tropical theater events featuring the best of Brazilian rhythms and dancing. A tribute to Brazilian legend Carmen Miranda kicks things off followed by cabaret and an homage to famous Brazilian televison presenter Osvaldo Sargentelli. The show will continue with samba, dancing Orixás, lambada, forró, maracatu, pagode, bossa nova, funk and frevo, almost everything one needs to get a true feel for the rhythms and musical culture of Brazil in one night.

Pedro Holanda and Marina Iris (Lapa)
Vocalist and guitarist Pedro Holanda will start the night off at Carioca da Gema at 8PM and singer Marina Iris will follow at 11PM with her reinterpretations of the works of Paulo Vanzolini, João Nogueira, Cartola, Dorival Caymmi, Nássara, Pedro Caetano, and Mario Lago, among others.
