For over five years, the event has been going strong and gaining popularity. Held at Gávea’s chic club 00 (Zero Zero) with its indoor/outdoor arrangement, the Bem Brasil Rio Hostel Party is a weekly meeting of locals, tourists and travelers staying in sixty of Rio’s hostels.
Tonight the entertainment includes a performance from the samba group Bom Batuque and DJs Bruno Lima and Ricardo Martins spinning house and latin rhythms respectively.
Make sure to show up early for the free caipirinhas from 10PM to 12AM and stay late to make new friends and dance the night away as the party continues until 12AM on Wednesday.

Matriz Live Sessions – Dakocaga and Ricochet (Botafogo)
Casa da Matriz, one of the oldest and most well known music venues in Rio, is again presenting live rock’n’roll on Tuesday nights to help showcase new bands and add a little kick to a usually not so lively night of the week. Tonight, bands Dakocaga and Ricochet will perform.

Ginga Tropical (Catete)
Exeperience Brazil’s rich musical history at Casarão Ameno Resedá in Catete tonight as the venue holds the Ginga Tropical theater event featuring the best of Brazilian rhythms and dancing. A tribute to Brazilian legend Carmen Miranda kicks things off followed by cabaret and an homage to famous Brazilian televison presenter Osvaldo Sargentelli. The show will continue with samba, dancing Orixás, lambada, forró, maracatu, pagode, bossa nova, funk and frevo, almost everything one needs to get a true feel for the rhythms and musical culture of Brazil in one night.

Language exchange – Lapa Irish Pub (Lapa)
It’s Portuguese/English language exchange night at the Lapa Irish Pub. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speaker at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s both fun and educational and the R$10 entrance cost includes free food.
