For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor while DJs Lis Amaral and miga_zz will present the Mono party on the second floor during the night.

Sambanzo and Lofisofia (Botafogo)
Tonight Quintavant Qtv presents groups Sambanzo and Lofisofia performing live at Audio Rebel in Botafogo. Known for mixing lo-fi and samba, Lofisofia is the duo of musicians Daniel Fernandes and Marcos Campello from the Chinese Cookie Poets. Sambanzo is the solo project of saxophonist Thiago França that blends samba, African and Latin music with jazz, improvisations and cumbia.

It’s all about samba at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema as singer Nelson Felix gets things started at 8:30PM and Tempero Carioca follows at 10:30PM with veterans of the samba genre delivering one of the best rodas de samba in the city tonight.

Sambarock da Silva and Bruno Maia and Marcos Ariel and Tigres da Lapa (Centro)
Tonight at Rio Scenarium, flutist, pianist and singer-songwriter Marcos Ariel will once again start off the night by performing his compositions as well as his reinterpretations of works by Ernesto Nazareth and Tom Jobim, among others. During his show he will be back by the group Tigres da Lapa. Then at 10:30PM Sambarock da Silva and Bruno Maia will follow with musicians delivering the best of sambarock, sambalanço, and samba pop.

Forró and Salsa Leviano (Lapa) Tonight at Lapa’s
Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present a live performance by Mariana Mello. Additionally, DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.
