This will be the third of six Rio World Cup MixUp viewing parties hosted by The Rio Times with co-hosts, The British & Commonwealth Society of Rio (BCS), the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (Britcham), the U.S. Consulate General, and the American Society of Rio de Janeiro (AmSoc Rio).
Promotions again include R$5 bottles of beer, R$10 caipirinhas and caipivodkas. Additionally, DJ Slim will play before and after the game.

The Rio Times World Cup Viewing Party (Ipanema)
At 4PM, come watch England take on Uruguay in their second group match of the World Cup. There will be R$5 bottles of beer, R$10 caipirinhas and caipivodkas and additional food promotions. DJ Slim will play before and after the game.

FIFA Fan Fest (Copacabana)
From June 12th through July 13th, Copacabana beach will be home to the FIFA Fan Fest during the 2014 World Cup games. The 31,000 m² area on the beach between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier, will house a large screen to view the matches live and a stage for entertainers that, during the tournament, will include; Sorriso Maroto, Dudu Nobre, Arlindo Cruz, Anitta, Sandra de Sá, Bom Gosto, Suvaco de Cristo, Cordão da Bola Preta, Fogo e Paixão, Bloco Brasil, Empolga às Nove, Blitz. All 64 matches of the World Cup will be shown live, which the exception of simultaneous games, when one match will be broadcast later. On Brazilian match days a second 50m² screen will be added. Each game day, the area between the streets of Princesa Isabel and Duvivier will open two hours before the first match of the day and always close at 10PM. Capacity for the area is 20,000. Entry is free and entrance will be granted according to order of arrival.

The Inflamável party returns to Copacabana’s Fosfobox tonight. DJs Buba, Bgolls Incrível, Igor Boechat, André Pipipi and special guests will spin pop, electro-pop and rock. There will also be distribution of shots at the DJ booth every time the word “fire” is mentioned in a song.

Toninho Geraes and Inácio Rios (Lapa)
Inácio Rios starts the night off at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema with the sounds of samba. Composer and singer Toninho Geraes will follow at 11PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. He will also reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.

Forró and Salsa Leviano (Lapa)
Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar, the group Mano a Mano starts things off with salsa and merengue on the first floor, while on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will bring some of best new forró pé de serra in Rio. DJ Angolano will spin samba at 8PM to start things off and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró at 10PM.

It’s Language Exchange night at the Blue Agave in Ipanema. Set up like speed dating, native English speakers will be paired up with native Portuguese speakers at tables. The pairs will then speak English for 5 minutes followed by Portuguese for 5 minutes. After those ten minutes, each speaker will move on to a new table and conversation partner. It’s a fun, educational event and a great opportunity to mix and mingle with native speakers of both English and Portuguese.
