It will be a very special edition as the popular record fair celebrates Dia dos Namorados (Brazilian Valentine’s Day) with more than 70 exhibitors selling T-shirts, books,CDs, record players, accessories and, of course, the very best EPs and LPs you can find anywhere in Rio de Janeiro and beyond.
During the event today, DJs will spin vinyl live. There will be a special “Som e Pausa” book signing and the launch of the book “Estudando o Samba,” by Tom Zé. Additionally there will be a very special tribute to a Brazilian musician who will be present but whose identity will remain secret until the fair.

Tonight Circo Voador in Lapa will host the premiere edition of Praça (The Square). The event arrives in the hopes of establishing a new monthly cultural space for creating and performing projects including parties, debates, screenings, alternative publication release, poetry, theater and more.

The Feira de Vinil do Rio de Janeiro returns to Instituto Metodista Bennett in Flamengo today for it 14th edition. It will be a special Dia dos Namorados (Brazilian Valentine’s Day) edition with more than 70 exhibitors selling T-shirts, books, CDs, record players, accessories and, of course, the very best EPs and LPs you can find anywhere in Rio de Janeiro and beyond.

The Top of Pestana venue in Copacabana will host the Soul Mais party today with DJs Maz, Sean Diss, Ananda Nobre and Nina Soul spinning. Additionally during the party, there will be a live jazz session with Luri Nicolsky of Nova Lapa Jazz. The Top of Pestana venue is located on the rooftop of the Pestana Rio Atlântica hotel facing the famous Copacabana beach. The venue offers a unique and sophisticated environment. The space previously hosted Rio Music Conference (RMC) events and was home to the BudHotel events during last year’s World Cup tournament.

Sambinha with Molejo (Gávea)
Today the Village Jockey Club festival hosts Sambinha with specail guest Molejo. Additionally during the event DJs Bibu and Nepal will spin and there will be a Tropical Trap session from 5PM to 6:30PM. There will also be free beer from 5PM to 7PM. The event is part of the second edition of the festival, which began on June 4th in the Jockey Club do Rio de Janeiro in Gávea and will continue through the 21st with both international and national musicians and bands performing live, as well as parties, food, food trucks and more.

It’s time once again for the best of house, electro, and pop as the twelve-hour Duo party returns to Gávea’s chic 00 (Zero Zero) club. Tonight will be a special Festa Junina edition with DJ Dani Vieira starting off the night by spinning on the outdoor deck. Then there will be a quadrilha (tradional folk dance) duo inside witl DJs Pako, Leo Gattuso and Claudio Fernandes spinning throughout the night until 5AM Monday morning.

Roda de Samba and Football with Ballet 2 Passistas (Football) (Lapa)
Sundays are all about samba and soccer at Lapa’s Leviano bar. Every week beginning at 5PM the venue plays live games on their screens with samba dancers following the matches and the group Ballet 2 playing classics of the genre, including works by Arlindo Cruz, Zeca Pagodinho and João Nogueira, among others. Additionally, DJ Mukato will spin during show intervals.
