‘Sem Parar Pay’ Allows Toll Payment Through Cell Phone Bluetooth

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Sem Parar has launched a new service that allows paying tolls with no cash or installing a device in the car: the Sem Parar Pay, which connects to cell phones through Bluetooth to charge tolls to accounts. The feature is available for drivers in Rio Grande do Sul.

There are several companies that offer automatic toll payment, including C6 Bank (Taggy), Veloe, ConectCar, and the Sem Parar. A device is installed in the vehicle that unlocks the gate on dedicated lanes.

In the case of Sem Parar Pay, it is different. “The focus is to meet the demand of motorcyclists and consumers who use toll plazas less often,” explains the company in a statement. This was in trials since February and was officially launched this week.

How Sem Parar Pay works

After downloading the Sem Parar App, users must select the Buy Online option and then tap Buy Sem Parar Pay. (This is only available in RS.) The payment method is selected and after inclusion, users must wait up to six hours to start using it.

Once at the toll, users head to one of the manual booths and advise the clerk that they will pay using this method. The Bluetooth must be active on cell phones, and the App must be installed and logged into the user’s account. There is no need to handle money or receipt because the receipt is digital.

Sem Parar Pay

The service is available to individuals in passenger cars or motorcycles, limited to one Sem Parar Pay by CPF (individual taxpayer registry), and is not accepted on automatic payment tracks. It can be used at the following CCR Via Sul toll plazas:
