Santos Wins Against Ponte Preta Despite Rain

In the second round of the Paulista Championship, Santos defeated Ponte Preta 3-1 at Vila Belmiro despite heavy rain and a wet field.

Giuliano scored twice, and Furch scored once for Santos. Elvis scored a penalty for Ponte Preta.

Santos played well from the start, showing good teamwork. Coach Fábio Carille helped the team play together well, even with the rain.

Ponte Preta tried to fight back but couldn’t match Santos. João Schmidt and Diego Pituca helped keep the defense strong.

Giuliano was great at moving the ball and scored two goals. Pedrinho didn’t play as well, missing some chances. Furch also scored, helping Santos get ahead early in the game.

Giuliano scored again in the second half, keeping Santos in control. Carille made some changes, bringing in Otero and Rincón, which helped the team.

Otero played well, especially on the sides of the field.

Carille has brought in many new players, and they are fitting in well. This helped Santos play well together.

Ponte Preta only scored once when Gil made a mistake that led to a penalty, which Elvis scored.

This win keeps Santos at the top of Group A with six points. Ponte Preta is third in Group B with one point.

Santos will play Palmeiras next. Ponte Preta will play Inter de Limeira. Both games are on Sunday.
