Choosing Your Brazilian Northeast Beach: Nudist, Cruising, or Relaxing?

The Northeast region of Brazil stands out as a premier travel destination, boasting a paradisiacal coastline and diverse landscapes catering to every tourist.

In the northeastern territory, it is possible to enjoy popular beaches with excellent hotel infrastructure, deserted and wild coastal stretches, various types of nature walks and even stretches of sand where nudism is allowed.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE NATURAL POOLS

In the Northeast, few things are as pleasant as cooling off in the calm, translucent water of a natural pool. And, in the region, there are many destinations that have this type of attraction.

One of them is Porto de Galinhas, in Pernambuco (PE): at low tide, natural turquoise pools full of colorful fish form relatively close to the shore – and can be accessed with rafts.

Taipu de Fora beach, in Bahia (BA) offers natural pools with crystal clear water practically next to the sand.

In Maragogi, Alagoas (AL), tourists take boats to go to paradisiacal natural pools in the middle of the sea, which form between coral reefs.

And from the beach of Maracajaú, in Rio Grande do Norte (RN) boats leave for the famous parrachos of Maracajaú — natural pools that appear in the middle of the sea at low tide and that usually offer translucent water, ideal for observing marine life.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE ISOLATION

Despite being frequented by many travelers throughout the year, the Northeast coast still has places dominated by a climate of peace and isolation.

The Bahian island of Boipeba, for example, has beaches where, even in summer, tourists can find themselves surrounded by very few people and abundant nature.

Bainema beach is one of them: it is an extensive strip of soft sand in Boipeba crowned by coconut trees and with wild stretches, where it is common to see almost nobody on the horizon.

In the region of Arraial d’Ajuda (BA), Taípe beach is protected by a cliff over 40 meters high and is home to a beautiful, long and peaceful stretch of sand where visitors have the chance to enjoy the day in privacy, in the middle of an environment with a lot of nature.

Already approximately 50 kilometers from Maceió (AL), Carro Carregado beach often offers empty landscapes for those who visit it. Tranquil and wild, the beach is marked by imposing cliffs.

At Praia do Sagi (RN), located about 100 kilometers from Natal, tourists also find stretches with a peaceful atmosphere, soft sand, pleasant water and, often, few people on the horizon.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO PARTY

The coast of Bahia is a true playground for those looking for a busy schedule of seaside parties on vacation.

In resorts like Porto Seguro and Morro de São Paulo, expect to find, during the summer, lively bars and clubs that, night after night, entertain tourists until the wee hours.

Hectic nightlife also exists in several capitals in the Northeast, such as Fortaleza, Recife and Salvador (the Rio Vermelho region is ideal for bohemian moments in the capital of Bahia).

And, although much visited by those who want peace, Jericoacoara (CE) offers good options for parties for tourists.

FOR THOSE WHO ENJOY SEA AND SAND ACTIVITIES

Fernando de Noronha (PE) is a paradise for those who enjoy diving.

There, tourists dive in points where the water has pleasant temperatures and visibility of up to 50 meters. Exotic fish, huge turtles and even sharks can be seen in the raids.

In addition, the Northeast has several destinations with ideal conditions for kitesurfing.

Among them are the resorts of Jericoacoara, in Ceará (CE), Cumbuco (CE), São Miguel do Gostoso (RN), and Macapá Beach, in Piauí (PI).

And how about having fun in the sand with buggy rides? There are many northeastern destinations where it is possible to carry out this type of activity.

On the beaches of the municipality of Conde, in Paraíba (PB) and surroundings, there are buggy tours alongside beautiful cliffs.

The routes in the Cumbuco (CE) region pass through dunes and freshwater lagoons.

In Natal (RN), buggy rides are organized through the famous dunes of Genipabu.

And, in Bahia, it is worth embarking on a buggy tour in Caraíva, which visits beautiful coastal landscapes in this part of the State.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE RESORTS

Don’t you give up comfort during a trip? Know that there are destinations with excellent resorts in the Northeast.

Costa do Sauipe, in Bahia, is a tourist complex with different hotels, swimming pools, and restaurants and is next to the sea – offering all the structure that a tourist could need during his vacation.

On the coast of Bahia, another very well-equipped destination is Mata de São João, where the Tivoli Ecoresort Praia do Forte is located, with pools, spa and gym – and structure next to the beach.

The Porto de Galinhas (PE) region also has a very developed tourist infrastructure, with establishments such as the luxurious Nannai resort, bungalows with private pools, a spa, and privileged views of the sea.

Facing a beach in the region of Itacaré (BA), the Txai Itacaré resort has accommodations in bungalows and swimming pools in the middle of a lot of forest.

And, in the region of Fortaleza (CE), the Dom Pedro Laguna resort is next to the beach and offers swimming pools, spacious accommodations, and a golf course.

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE NUDISM

It is possible to do nudism on Tambaba beach, located approximately 35 kilometers from João Pessoa (PB).

The beach has a private stretch in the middle of a wild environment, where tourists can take off all their clothes and enjoy the sand and sea as they come into the world.

It is possible to go by car to a parking lot close to the beach and, from there, walk to the strip of sand reserved for nudism.

Another coastal point in the Northeast where nudism is allowed is Massarandupió Beach. It is about 100 kilometers from Salvador.
