Neymar Scandal: Examination Did not Detect Internal Injury in Alleged Victim

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – As is standard procedure in alleged rape cases, model Najila Trindade Mendes submitted to a corpus delicti examination after filing a police report alleging sexual violence by Neymar last Friday.

The Civil Police have already received the result, and the report did not indicate any injuries to the genitalia of the alleged victim.

The only wound detected during the examination was to one of Najila’s fingers. A 66-second snippet of video recorded in a hotel room in Paris shows the model assaulting Neymar.

At a press conference at the Women’s Defense Department, her lawyer, Danilo Garcia de Andrade, did not discuss the report. He stated he was only becoming aware of the examination results at that time, and added that all forensic evidence is included in the secrecy surrounding the investigation.

The result of the corpus delicti examination does not confirm the prior report made by a gastroenterologist at Albert Einstein Hospital who had been contracted by Najila’s attorneys.

In that assessment, which took place on May 21st, six days after the date the model was allegedly raped, lesions were found on the thighs and buttocks.

The examining doctor responsible for this report gave testimony yesterday afternoon at the 6th Precinct of Women’s Defense and confirmed that injuries were detected, according to UOL Esporte.

But the gastroenterologist pointed out that he did not take the photos that were attached to the report.

After being heard by the officer leading the police investigation, the doctor left the building without giving interviews. He stated that he was respecting the confidential nature of the inquiry.

In addition to physical injuries caused by the alleged rape, Najila’s lawyer says his client was traumatized by what happened in Paris. He added that she has difficulty sleeping, has lost weight, cries a lot, and is taking medicine for tension and anxiety.
