Governor Freitas appoints former Petrobras president as secretary of São Paulo
The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, appointed this Friday, the 6th, the former president of Petrobras Caio Paes de Andrade to the Secretariat of Management and Digital Government.
Andrade resigned from the presidency of the state-owned company on Tuesday 3, after the beginning of the Lula government. The reason would be the PT’s “different positions” in relation to the previous administration, both in the economy and in the company.
Andrade was nominated for office in June 2022 by then-president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). He has also commanded the Federal Data Processing Service and the Special Secretariat for Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government.

OTHER APPOINTMENTS BY FREITAS
In addition to Andrade, today’s Official State Gazette announced the appointment of Marcos Penido as executive secretary for Government and Institutional Relations. Previously, Penido served as Government Secretary during Rodrigo Garcia’s (PSDB) administration.
Deputy Osvaldo Nico Gonçalves was appointed to the Secretariat of Public Security, and was head of the Civil Police of São Paulo in the previous management. Gonçalves ranks second only to secretary Guilherme Derrite. Sérgio Henrique Codelo Nascimento will hold the position of superintendent of the Roads Department.
