Argentine Province of Buenos Aires approved a US$2.8 million expenditure for anal sex “intimate gels”
The government of the Province of Buenos Aires will spend $500 million (US$2.79 million) to obtain one million pots of intimate gel to distribute among young people from Buenos Aires who wish to practice anal sex, according to a recent budget reassignment published on the official website of Provincial purchases.
The purchase was revealed last Monday night on Esteban Trebucq’s new program on A24, where he showed that in October the order was loaded at the Buenos Aires Ministry of Health led by Nicolás Kreplak.
Kreplak’s office would have even requested that the level of purchases be raised, and thus the total number of intimate gels to be purchased resulted in one million, at a price of $500 (US$2.8) for each 100-gram unit, according to the purchase process.

In the purchase recitals, the official file mentions that “the use of lubricating gel reduces the chances of condom breakage when having sexual intercourse,” but immediately ensures that “it is a recommended tool for the practice of anal sex specifically.”
The Ministry of Health delves into a description of how the human body works when having sexual intercourse through the anus: “Anal sex does not produce fluids to help penetration. Also, the tight muscular sphincter at the entrance of the anus is much more resistant than the vagina, which is full of folds and stretchable tissues.”
What is not understood or explained is why the State should provide this gel using public resources for a practice that does not imply a question of public health or aid to the most neglected sectors.
It is also not understood why Axel Kicillof and his government approved this purchase when the Province is going through its worst crisis in more than 20 years. That is why we ask ourselves, what is the governor Axel Kicillof up to?
