The Artist Behind the Work

Danísio Silva is a fixture of the island’s cultural scene: solo exhibitions in Brazil and Portugal, workshops like ‘Photographing the Invisible’ and ‘Photographing Silence’, and ten years as photographer for the Camerata Florianópolis orchestra.

He has also co-authored a shelf of photobooks on Florianópolis — from ‘Florianópolis vista de cima’ (from above) to ‘Florianópolis vista do mar’ (from the sea) — making him one of the city’s principal visual chroniclers.
