Bunge announces millions in credit to Brazilian agribusiness

Bunge announced an initiative to provide US$500 million in credit for Brazilian agribusiness.

On Monday, July 29, the global giant in the agricultural industry launched Fincrop – a fintech focused on loans for rural producers.

Bunge’s new venture will mediate the relationship between credit market agents and Brazilian agribusiness.

The company was born offering products and digital tools to improve the risk assessment of loans to rural producers.

The strategy is to use the relationship history that the agricultural giant has with 12 thousand producers in Brazil.

Thus, the national resellers “will be able to manage their client portfolio and a credit solution that facilitates the connection of the financial market to the grain producers,” informs the company.

With this capillarity, Bunge knows the dynamics of the country’s farmers up close.

In this way, it is aware of their significant differential over the rest of the world: implementing ecologically correct practices.

“We believe that the high level of adoption of sustainable practices by Brazilian farmers is an extremely important asset for investors,” explained Florence Shoshany, Bunge’s Chief Financial Officer.

“We offer a digital platform for our partners to manage their credit portfolios and financial product structuring services for grain producers.”

Furthermore, Bunge invests in Brazilian agribusiness because it is one of the largest food producers on the planet.

In the case of soybeans, for example, local agriculture has the largest harvest on the planet and is the largest supplier of this grain to the international market.
