British Band The 1975 Play Rio’s Circo Voador this Thursday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Thursday, April 4th, Rio’s rock fans will be treated to a taste of Lollapalooza Brasil when British band The 1975 stop by to play Lapa’s famous Circo Voador stage. The band are currently touring in support of their third album, 2018’s ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships.’

This is the band’s first time in Rio de Janeiro, where they will be playing Lapa’s legendary Circo Voador a day after Brazilian icon Gal Costa. Their show has been highly anticipated, and they are also following hot on the heels of fellow British rock band and Lollapalooza grandees Arctic Monkeys.

The band, who hail from Manchester, are touring their third album, which was ranked 21st in Pitchfork magazine’s ‘50 best albums of 2018.’

Set to release their fourth album, ‘Notes on a Conditional Form,’ in May 2019, The 1975 are sure to provide fans with plenty of unreleased songs and surprises alongside their best-known hits such as ‘Somebody Else,’ ‘Robbers,’ ‘Love It If We Made It,’ and ‘TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME.’

Formed by Matty Healy (vocalist and guitarist), Adam Hann (guitarist), George Daniel (drummer and vocalist) and Ross MacDonald (bass player), The 1975 released their eponymous debut album in 2013 and ever since have made a habit of provoking polarized opinions from listeners and critics alike, being dubbed “the Most Hated and Loved Band in the World” by Vice magazine’s Larry Fitzmaurice.
