According to the weather agency Climatempo, a polar air front entered the coast of Santa Catarina and settled in the mountains of the west and north of the state.

The phenomenon is advancing towards the southeastern region, to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro states, where temperatures have dropped since Thursday.

It is expected that in São Paulo, the temperature will drop this weekend to 8 degrees. Rio de Janeiro, the country’s tourist capital, will have a minimum temperature of 12 degrees.
