Paraguay approves Coronavac vaccine for children under 11 years of age

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - "We were sent interesting results (from Chile's top health authority) in terms of adverse events in children," Health Surveillance Director Maria Antonieta Gamarra said in a Ministry statement.

"Now, the approval of Sinhoparm is in progress, we are awaiting reports from Argentina's National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) to finalize its approval," she added.

The Coronavac vaccine will now join Pfizer's, the only one approved for children in the immunization program. The Ministry did not specify when it will begin administering the doses to this age group.
