Minister Says Government Is Ready to Intervene in Viracopos Airport Bankruptcy

Infrastructure Minister Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas said the government is prepared to act if intervention is required in the Viracopos airport concession in the state of São Paulo.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos (ABV), which is in charge of managing the terminal, has been under judicial reorganization since May 2018. Last week, a Federal Court ruling authorized the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to resume the procedure for ending the concession.

"We have plans A, B or C for Viracopos. We are ready for the bankruptcy decree, to intervene at the airport or to accept a request for re-bidding. The studies are set in motion to make the bidding.
