1 in 3 Brazilian voters lack confidence in vote count

The PoderData poll, conducted September 11-13, 2022, shows that 1 in 3 voters think the vote count in Brazil is unsafe.

The rate is now 31%, down 5 percentage points from the end of May, the penultimate time PoderData asked respondents this question.

The group of those who trust the electoral system is now at 56%.

It showed minor fluctuations since January. Since then, the electorate has moved back and forth between the group of those who don’t think the count is specific and those who don’t know how to answer.

Because there appears to be a high and fixed number of voters who trust the system.

This does not mean that Bolsonaro’s dispute with the electoral system and the dealings between the TSE and the armed forces will not bring new developments in the coming days.

The tendency, however, is that this is unlikely to have much impact on electoral intentions.

Among voters for the four top-ranked candidates in the polls, voters for Jair Bolsonaro (PL) are the only ones who criticize the system more (52%) than trust it (32%).

Most voters of Lula da Silva (71%), Ciro (80%), and Tebet (69%) consider the count safe.
