Living in Barra already makes life hard for those people who have to get to Zona Sul every day, but when the buses decided to go on strike this Monday, April 12^th, life got even harder. With all the rain we’ve been having lately, the last thing we needed was for the public transport system to go haywire, making the people with cars use them. More cars on the street mean more traffic.

Yet I still don’t understand the reason why they decided to strike in the first place. I hadn’t seen anything on the television warning that this strike would happen (like we often can see before airports or the post system goes on strike). I know that The Rio Times is a good source of news in English and I would love to see an article about the cause of this sudden bus strike. Please let us know and make us understand what happened to our public transport system!
