The Borogodó reopens on Tuesday after the Monday dark, and the first session of the new week runs 9 pm to 2 am — five hours of samba, choro and partido-alto in the room on Rua Horácio Lane that has been Pinheiros’ samba home since 2001.

Tuesday is one of the quieter nights at the Borogodó: the crowd is smaller, the tables are easier, the atmosphere leans toward conversation and listening rather than the Saturday-night dance-floor crush.

On a rainy Tuesday, the Largo’s partially covered area offers some shelter, but the outdoor tables will be wet — the Porão downstairs is the better option for committed evening plans.
