In his various installations, Henke creates art through the formation of music and sounds by machines combined with moving lights and their reflections on different shapes and structures to reveal the relationships between space and sound.
“Lumière II” premiered in Paris in February earlier this year and is a further exploration of Henke’s original installation “Lumière,” which debuted in 2013.
In addition to his installations, Henke is one of the main designers of the popular Ableton Live music software and a founding and former member of the Monolake project. He is well-known for building machines like the Monodeck MIDI controllers and for software like Ableton Live, Max for Live and the Granulator for Max for Live devices.

Festival Honk! Rio 2015 (Botafogo)
The free Honk! Rio 2015 festival continues today with its third of four days. The festival is one of the major international festivals of brass bands and it is taking place in Rio de Janeiro for the first time this week. Today and tonight, the events will take place at five locations; Arcos da Lapa, Praça Tiradentes and Largo das Neves, Praça Odilo Costa Neto, and Largo do Curvelo in Santa Teresa. Groups Honkinho, Fanfarra Imaginária, Os Siderais, Trombetas Cósmicas do Jardim Elétrico, and Pakitos Cuecacuela will perform at Praça Odilo Costa Neto in Santa Teresa beginning at 3PM. Groups Bagunço Móvel, Marofas Grass Band, Os Biquínis de Ogodô with Sungas de Odara, and Mission Delirium will perform at Largo das Neves in Santa Teresa beginning at 5PM. Groups Metais Pesados, Environmental Encroachment, Rim Bam Bum, and Bloco Céu na Terra will perform at Largo do Curvelo in Santa Teresa beginning at 6:30PM. Arcos da Lapa will host the Fanfarra Black Clube beginning at 11PM and Praça Tiradentes will host Ataque Brasil beginning at 12AM.

Jorge Ben Jor (Lapa)
Following last night’s show, Brazilian MPB singer Jorge Ben Jor returns to perform live again at Circo Voador in Lapa tonight. Known for fusing the sounds of samba with funk, rock and pop, Ben Jor’s hits include “Filho Maravilha,” “Chove Chuva,” and “País Tropical,” among others.
