In the first seven months of 2023, Argentina welcomed over 750,000 Brazilian visitors.

In July alone, the country saw record numbers, with 150,000 Brazilians, marking a 1% increase compared to the same period in the pre-pandemic year 2019.

There was a noticeable surge in visitors across all entry methods into the country.

According to Inprotur, maritime entry witnessed a 51% growth in June, while land transport recovered to pre-pandemic levels.

Air travel accounted for 376,000 Brazilian passengers.

The average expenditure of leisure tourists arriving by air was US$987, marking a 36% increase from the first quarter of 2019.

Inprotur’s executive secretary, Ricardo Sosa, mentioned that several initiatives were undertaken in Brazil to maintain the positive inflow.

Highlights included Aerolíneas Argentinas announcing new routes and Argentina strengthening its position as a prime vacation and business trip destination.

He expressed confidence in achieving and even surpassing pre-pandemic visitation levels.

Popular destinations for Brazilians included Mendoza, Patagonia, and Buenos Aires.

In addition to Aerolíneas’ highlighted routes to Salta and Tucumán, there were also announcements regarding Gol’s interest in adding more flights in the latter half of the year.
