Record level of natural gas supplies from Russia to China in May

By · July 20, 2023 · 1 min read

In May, Russia achieved a milestone in its natural gas exports to China, shipping an unprecedented 3.09 billion cubic meters of both liquefied and pipeline gas, as confirmed by the Russian Customs Service.

This represents the first time the monthly volume of Russian natural gas exports to China surpassed 3 billion cubic meters.

The report indicated that Gazprom, Russia’s largest gas producer, contributed approximately 2 billion cubic meters of this total through the Siberian Force pipeline.

Additionally, 1.1 billion cubic meters were supplied in the form of liquefied natural gas across 13 shipments.

The Interfax agency reported that Russian gas accounted for 22.8% of China’s total natural gas imports in May.
