Royal Air Maroc now flies from Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. For West Coast travelers, it removes the connection through New York, Washington or Europe.

The route began on Sunday 7 June 2026 and is still operating, with departures listed through Friday 30 October. This guide sets out the schedule, the entry rules for US citizens and what the airline has not confirmed.

What the Route Is and Why It Matters

Royal Air Maroc, Morocco’s national airline, opened its Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop service on Sunday 7 June 2026, Hespress reported. The airline calls it the first direct air link between Africa and the US Pacific coast.

Before Los Angeles, it already flew nonstop from Casablanca to New York, Washington, D.C. and Miami. Medias24 lists Los Angeles alongside Montreal and Toronto as its six North American cities.

Chairman and chief executive Hamid Addou called the launch a historic milestone for the airline and for African air connectivity. The airline’s press release says the route targets Moroccan and African diasporas, American tourists, business travelers and soccer fans.

Medias24 reported that the airline could add flights if demand holds. It also said Boston is expected to follow, though the report gave no date.

The Schedule Week by Week

The Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop service uses two flight numbers. AT250 leaves Casablanca at 4:00 a.m. and lands in Los Angeles at 8:20 a.m. that day, in local times.

AT251 leaves Los Angeles at 10:20 a.m. on those days and lands in Casablanca at 5:25 a.m. the next day. A Tuesday departure from Los Angeles therefore arrives on Wednesday morning.

A travel-industry review put the block time at about 12 hours 20 minutes westbound and 11 hours 5 minutes eastbound. Plan on a full day of travel once airport time is added.

Public flight listings show AT250 scheduled for Friday 23, Sunday 25, Tuesday 27 and Friday 30 October. From Sunday 25 October the listings show the departure about five minutes earlier, so confirm the exact time when you book.

Tickets, Aircraft and Frequent Flyer Miles

Tickets for the Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop flight are sold on royalairmaroc.com, by phone, at sales offices and by travel agencies. Fares appear only after you enter travel dates, so compare several days.

Royal Air Maroc belongs to the Oneworld alliance, as do American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. The Points Guy said miles from those two airlines may be usable on the route.

Flight-tracking records show the airline using both the Boeing 787-8 and the larger 787-9 on the route in October. A launch-time review counted 274 seats on the 787-8, with 18 of them in business class.

Airports, Trains and Onward Travel

Flights land at Mohammed V International Airport, which serves Casablanca and sits outside the city. The national rail operator ONCF runs trains between the airport and Casablanca.

In summer 2026 ONCF ran an airport train every hour between 6:00 and 23:00. The winter timetable may differ, so check ONCF before you land.

From Casablanca, the Al Boraq high-speed line runs north through Rabat and Kénitra to Tangier. ONCF’s summer plan listed 30 Al Boraq trains a day, hourly between 6:00 and 22:00.

Marrakech has its own US links, Medias24 noted in June, with United flying to New York and Delta to Atlanta. Those flights are separate from the Los Angeles route, so check their days before you plan around them.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens on the Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop flight need no visa for stays of 90 days or less. The State Department adds that the passport needs six months’ validity at entry and one blank page per stamp.

Staying beyond 90 days without an extension can mean appearing before a judge and paying a fine, the State Department warns. Long-stay expats should arrange residency before the 90 days run out.

The State Department rates Morocco at Level 2, exercise increased caution, because of terrorism risk. It issued the advisory on 4 September 2026, and our Morocco security guide covers the detail.

Travelers must declare foreign currency worth 15,000 dirhams (about US$1,530) or more on arrival. Exporting dirhams is prohibited, so spend leftover cash before you fly home.

The State Department lists no required vaccinations for entry. Dollar figures in this guide use 9.80 dirhams to the US dollar, the rate on Wednesday 21 October 2026.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

No fare for the Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop flight could be confirmed, because the airline shows prices only for chosen dates. Prices change with the date and cabin.

The listings we checked ran only to Friday 30 October. Check royalairmaroc.com for November and December dates before you buy.

No 2027 timetable for Los Angeles had been published when we checked on Wednesday 21 October. The airline has not said whether it will raise the three weekly flights.

Boston is expected to follow the Los Angeles to Morocco nonstop route, Medias24 reported, but no start date was found. Terminal details at Los Angeles and Casablanca were not confirmed either.
