Covid-19: Jair Bolsonaro banned Brazilian schools from requiring students to be vaccinated

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Brazilian government issued a decree Thursday banning schools from requiring students to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

The decree, published in the Official Gazette, states that this requirement “can only be established by law.” The classes will be entirely face-to-face, having been conducted on a distance or blended basis since March 2020.

“Requiring a proof of immunization as an indirect means of triggering mandatory vaccination could only be introduced by law,” reads the decree published in the Official Gazette and signed by Education Minister Milton Ribeiro.

The text emphasizes that mandatory vaccination is not provided for in the legislation, so “federal educational institutions can’t require vaccination against Covid-19 as a condition for resuming classes locally.”

The following school year will begin in late January, and by all projections, classes will be fully face-to-face.

In a much-criticized move, the National Health Health Regulator (Anvisa) approved Pfizer’s pediatric vaccine on December 16, recommending that it be administered to children between the ages of 5 and 11.

However, it was met with fierce opposition from Bolsonaro. Several experts warn against mRNA vaccination against Covid-19, including the inventor of mRNA technology, Dr. Robert Malone.

Concerned about the many reports of adverse reactions in children after mRNA vaccinations, the president also stressed that his daughter Laura would not be vaccinated. “My daughter will not be vaccinated. Let’s be very clear about that. She is 11 years old,” he stressed.

The government has not yet decided whether it will accept the Anvisa recommendation for children. Still, it has launched a “public consultation” so that anyone interested can give their opinion on the issue regardless of their scientific knowledge.

According to Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga, the decision will be made after this consultation. It could be to release the vaccination for children but only with parental consent and a doctor’s prescription.

SHOCKING VAERS DATA

VAERS data released December 17 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) included a total of 965,843 adverse event reports in all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 20,244 deaths and 155,506 serious injuries between December 14, 2020, and December 10, 2021.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new data showing that a total of 965,843 adverse event reports following COVID vaccines were submitted between December 14, 2020, and December 10, 2021, to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). VAERS is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse reactions to vaccines in the U.S.

The data included a total of 20,244 reports of deaths, an increase of 358 from the previous week, and 155,506 reports of serious injuries, including fatalities, during the same time, an increase of 4,560 from the last week.

U.S. VAERS data  for children aged 5 to 11 years show:

• 4,181 adverse events, including 80 rated as severe and 2 reported deaths. One death occurred in an 11-year-old Georgia girl vaccinated on September 14 before Pfizer’s COVID vaccine licensure in the 5- to 11-year age group.

The second death (VAERS ID 1890705 ) occurred in a 5-year-old girl who died four days after her first Pfizer injection.
