Confraria Bier en Cultuur in Ipanema on Saturday, July 12th: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Local Beerhouse, Bier en Cultuur, will be celebrating three award-winning beers this Saturday (July 12th) with a selection of chopps (draft beers) and traditional Argentinian pies at its premises in Ipanema during special event, Confraria Bier en Cultuur.

Bier en Cultuur originated from a passion of beers, selling around two hundred labels of handpicked domestic and imported beers. Both a shop and a bar for specialty and exclusive beers, Bier en Cultuur creates an intimate atmosphere for visitors in its small, yet well-stocked holdings.

The event showcases three particular beers. The Bamberg “O Calibre´ is a German Pilsner style beer with 4.8 percent alcohol and made in honor of thirty years of one of the biggest rock bands in Brazil, “Os Paralamas do Sucesso”. The second is the Aunciação IPA (India Pale Ale), an American style pale ale that will be served for the first time in Rio. It is 7.5 percent alcohol and holds the silver medal for the South Beer Cup in 2014.

Finally, there is the Invicta Black Ale, a black IPA style described as a robust beer with seven percent alcohol. It presents a blend of hops balanced with roasted malts. In the first Brazilian Beer Competition in 2013 in Blumenau in Santa Caterina it took home the bronze medal in the American Style Black Ale category. In the South Beer Cup 2013 in Buenos Aires, it was awarded silver in the Other Beer Style category.

Four types of pies are served as part of the event and are traditional Argentinian “empanadas” (pies). Choice of savory flavors include meat, spicy meat, and cheese with onion, while also serving a sweet pie of “doce de leite” (sweet milk).

Tickets for the event are R$120 per person and includes all chopps and pies. They are already on sale and can be purchased at Bier en Cultuur.
