The Cirque du Soleil Santiago run of Alegría opens on Wednesday 6 January 2027 under a big top at Espacio Riesco. For US travelers, it is a chance to see what Cirque calls its most iconic production, completely reimagined, during the southern summer.

Tickets are on sale now through Puntoticket, with fees-included prices from 51,750 Chilean pesos (about US$53). There are 36 performances through Sunday 31 January, so the show fits almost any itinerary.

What Alegría Is and Why It Matters

Alegría is a Cirque du Soleil production that opened in 1994 and toured the world until 2013. Cirque says that run drew more than 14 million spectators in 255 cities across 40 countries.

The new Cirque du Soleil Santiago version, Alegría: Un Nuevo Día, is a reimagining with new direction, music, acrobatics and sets. Cirque says the original soundtrack was Grammy-nominated and remains its most purchased and streamed album.

The story follows a kingdom that has lost its king. An old aristocracy and a young street movement fight for control, while the court jester, Mr. Fleur, clumsily eyes the throne.

24horas and Meganoticias report that the Cirque du Soleil Santiago run marks 20 years since Cirque first performed in Chile. Meganoticias reported on 25 May 2026 that the cast has 54 artists from 18 countries.

January falls in the Chilean summer, the reverse of the US season, which suits a winter escape for American visitors. The show also pairs well with a longer stay, because the run lasts almost a full month.

Dates, Times and Tickets

Wednesday and Thursday shows start at 9 p.m., as does the one Tuesday show on 12 January. Sundays have two shows, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., until the final day.

Most Fridays and Saturdays have a 5 p.m. show and a 9 p.m. show. Saturday 16 and 23 January add a 1:30 p.m. matinee, while Friday 29 January shifts to 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

On Saturday 30 January there are three shows, at 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. local time. The closing day, Sunday 31 January, has two shows, at 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. local time.

Cirque du Soleil Santiago tickets are sold by Puntoticket, Chile’s main ticketing site, which lists a calendar for each date. Puntoticket names Interpro SpA as the producer, and Cirque’s own website also lists the Santiago run with a ticket page.

Banco de Chile cardholders get 20% off the ticket price, with up to six tickets each, until 32,580 discounted seats are gone. The discount does not cover the service charge, which is about 15% of the ticket price.

Puntoticket says purchases are final, with no right of withdrawal. Children under two enter free without a seat, but everyone older needs a ticket.

What Each Seat Costs

Prices include Puntoticket’s service charge and convert at 983 Chilean pesos to the dollar, the rate on Tuesday 20 October 2026. Cirque du Soleil Santiago seats start with Silver at 63,250 pesos (about US$64), or 51,750 pesos (about US$53) with a partial view.

Platinum seats cost 97,750 pesos (about US$99), or 86,250 pesos (about US$88) with a partial view. Diamante seats cost 125,350 pesos (about US$128), or 113,850 pesos (about US$116) with a partial view.

Premium seats cost 159,850 pesos (about US$163), or 148,350 pesos (about US$151) with a partial view. The top Tapis Rouge tier costs 228,850 pesos (about US$233), or 217,350 pesos (about US$221) with a partial view.

Wheelchair seats and the companion seats beside them cost 51,750 pesos (about US$53). Reduced-mobility seats in the Silver and Diamante areas carry the same prices as the standard seats there.

Tapis Rouge is limited to about 200 guests per show. It adds preferential parking, cocktails before the show and at intermission, a private lounge, a gift, free Wi-Fi and private restrooms.

The Venue and How to Get There

The Cirque du Soleil Santiago show is held under a big top at Espacio Riesco, Avenida El Salto 5000, in Huechuraba. Cirque says the Big Top can welcome guests with disabilities.

Huechuraba is north of the city center, so allow extra time for the Cirque du Soleil Santiago trip from the central neighborhoods. A 2022 EnCancha guide to concerts at the same venue put public-transport trips from downtown and Las Condes at about one hour.

That guide routed riders by Metro to Vespucio Norte station on Line 2, then onto a local bus along Avenida El Salto. Routes and stops may have changed since then, so check a live map before you go.

Taxis and ride-hailing apps are the simplest way home after a late show, so agree on a pickup spot first. The State Department advises using only regulated taxis or legal ride-share apps in Chile.

Espacio Riesco also hosts Anyma’s New Year’s Eve show on Thursday 31 December. For other nights out, see what to do in Santiago in October 2026 and our Santiago city guide.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days, the State Department says. Your passport must be valid for the whole stay and have a blank page for the entry stamp.

On arrival you receive a Tourist Card valid for up to 90 days, which you must return when you leave. The State Department also says visitors must show at least US$46 a day to cover expenses.

The State Department rates Chile at Level 2, exercise increased caution, in an advisory issued on 19 August 2026. It cites crime, unrest and health risks, and warns that petty theft is common in crowded areas and on the Santiago subway.

Chile is on UTC-3 in January, which puts Santiago two hours ahead of New York. A 9 p.m. show in Santiago starts at 7 p.m. on the US East Coast.

Puntoticket has an English version and a sign-in for foreign customers, who register by email instead of with a Chilean tax ID. Buy only through Puntoticket or Cirque’s own website, because tickets offered elsewhere may be fake.

Cirque says the Cirque du Soleil Santiago show has loud noises and some dark scenes. The tent may use flashing lights, so guests with photosensitive epilepsy should call Cirque customer service at 1-877-924-7783 before buying.

Medical care in Chile is not free, and the State Department strongly recommends insurance that covers medical evacuation. US Medicare and Medicaid generally do not cover care abroad.

For a longer stay, here is what expats should know about living in Santiago. A trip built around the Cirque du Soleil Santiago show can also take in the city’s other concerts and festivals.

What Is Not Confirmed Yet

On Tuesday 20 October, the ticket pages list no shuttle, parking fee or seating capacity for the tent. Puntoticket says only that Tapis Rouge buyers get preferential parking.

Some early reports gave Thursday 7 January as opening night. The seller’s calendar and Cirque’s own page both list the first show on Wednesday 6 January.

Seat availability shows only after you pick a date on Puntoticket’s calendar, so we cannot say which dates are nearly sold out. Check the calendar early if you need a particular Saturday.

Puntoticket does not say whether foreign buyers can pay with US-issued cards, so test a purchase early. Your card issuer may add a foreign transaction fee.

The pages reviewed name no individual performers and no further Chilean dates for the Cirque du Soleil Santiago tour. Local transport plans for the tent have not been published.

What Comes Next

Before Santiago, the same production plays Curitiba, Brazil, from Thursday 19 November to Sunday 13 December 2026, according to Cirque’s website. Its São Paulo run ends on Sunday 8 November.

The Cirque du Soleil Santiago run opens on Wednesday 6 January and closes on Sunday 31 January 2027. Puntoticket lists 36 performances in all.
