Brazil’s Méliuz Picks Young American to Lead Bold Bitcoin Push

Brazilian fintech Méliuz (CASH3) just named a recent college graduate from the United States, Mason Foard, as its Director of Bitcoin Strategy, marking a striking new chapter for the company.

Méliuz, well-known in Brazil for its cashback and digital finance services, recently bought 275.43 bitcoins for $28.61 million after raising funds through a share sale.

This brought its total Bitcoin holdings to 595.67, a move officially reported by the company. Méliuz now places Bitcoin at the center of its long-term investment strategy, aiming to make it the main asset in its corporate treasury.

Foard, who graduated from Colorado College in 2025 and has one finance internship listed, gained most of his experience leading a major online Bitcoin strategy group.

The group, with over 34,000 members, focuses on how companies can use Bitcoin for treasury management. Méliuz states that Foard is a recognized specialist in this field, though he is new to traditional corporate roles.

Méliuz’s executives say their choice is a calculated response to economic uncertainty in Brazil, such as inflation and currency swings. The company says holding Bitcoin can protect value and attract international, especially US-based, investors.
