Brazil elections 2022: Lula da Silva’s advantage to Bolsonaro drops 5 points without Moro -FSB/BTG poll

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Workers’ Party – PT) currently has a nine-point lead over President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), according to a survey that the FSB Institute has done for the BTG Pactual investment Bank, released today (25). The Brazilian presidential candidate has 41% of voting intentions, while the head of the executive branch has 32%. The distance between the two was greater in March, 14 points.

The survey shows that the former president fell two percentage points compared to last month, still within the margin of error, which is two percentage points. He had 43%, from the current 41%. Bolsonaro rose three points: from 29% to 32%.

In the spontaneous poll, in which voters express their preference without a list of options being presented in advance, the gap between the two front-runners is even smaller: the PT candidate has 36% and Bolsonaro, 30%.

All other presidential candidates considered in the survey add up to 17%. They are: Ciro Gomes, from PDT (9%), André Janones, from Avante (3%), João Doria, from PSDB (3%), Simone Tebet, from MDB (1%) and Vera Lucia, from PSTU (1%). The survey does not include former judge Sérgio Moro, who gave up his pre-candidacy with Podemos and switched to União Brasil.

The FSB/BTG survey consulted 2,000 voters by phone between April 22 and 24. The margin of error is two percentage points higher or lower.
