Brazilian sports narrator Galvão Bueno launches Bien Amigos wine with tasting on Gol flight

Five Gol airline flights departing from Brazil to the cities of Mendoza and Buenos Aires, in Argentina, gained an extra item in their in-flight service during the World Cup: a Bien Amigos wine tasting.

The label in question is manufactured by the Bueno Wines winery, owned by sports narrator Galvão Bueno, in partnership with Bodega Dante Robino and brings a mixture of Argentinian Malbec and Brazilian Merlot grapes.

The first flight to receive the “Portunhol blend”, as the drink was named, took place on Monday (12) on a trip to Buenos Aires. Passengers were surprised by an audio narrated by Galvão welcoming them and offering a toast.

A day earlier, a video was projected onto a building in São Paulo, between Rua Consolação and Rua Maria Antônia, which explained how the unlikely union between Brazil and Argentina resulted in a derby in another type of cup, far away from the pitch.

Other passengers over 18 years of age will still have to taste Galvão’s wine on three other flights to Argentina by December 15th.

The limited edition of Bien Amigos, of just 18,000 bottles, is also available for purchase on the Bueno Wines website and Amazon for R$89.90 (US$16.90)

The winery recommends its pairing with red meat roasts, feijoadas and snacks based on cheese and charcuterie.
