Clashes and arrests mark first day of strike in Bolivia

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Clashes between blockaders and the Police and groups trying to dissipate the protests marked the first day of the strike in Bolivia, which ended with more than a hundred people arrested and several injured, a day that coincided with the first year of Luis Arce's government.

The first day of the indefinite strike in Bolivia was especially felt in seven of the country's nine regions. The population carried out several blockade points that prevented the passage of vehicles.
