Brazilian Navy takes delivery of its last H135 helicopter for Antarctic missions

Their primary mission is to support the Brazilian Antarctic Program (PROANTAR) through transport, search and rescue missions, and aeromedical evacuation on the white continent.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In mid-December 2021, the Brazilian Navy took delivery of its last Airbus H135 light helicopter. With this delivery, Airbus Helicopters (through its Brazilian subsidiary Helibras) completes the contract signed with the Brazilian Navy in 2019 to deliver three units.

The H135s, designated UH-17s by the Brazilian Navy, will complement and replace the UH-13 (Airbus H125) helicopters operated by the 1st Multi-Purpose Helicopter Squadron.
