Bolsonaro’s party confirms his return to Brazil for March 30
Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro will return to the country on March 30, one day after the last announced date and after three months in the United States, Liberal Party (PL) president Valdemar da Costa Neto confirmed Friday.
“We remain waiting for you, captain,” he said on social networks.
“Bolsonaro will disembark in Brasilia at 7:30 am. We are waiting for you, captain, to fight together for a fairer and freer Brazil,” announced the head of the PL, putting an end to weeks of uncertainty about when the former president would return, to whom his party has prepared an intense campaign for the 2024 municipal elections.

The objective is to jump from the 343 municipalities under PL leadership to about 1,000, to achieve a privileged position before the 2026 presidential elections.
“The idea is to create a real task force all over Brazil, reinforcing Bolsonaro’s role as a great leader of the right,” said the PL’s leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Altineu Cortes.
