Tonight Quintavant Qtv will present Jorge Amorim and Tribo live at Audio Rebel in Botafogo. Jorge Amorim is a drummer and percussionist who studied jazz and drum techniques with Steve McCraven, drummer of Archie Shepp. Amorim released his debut album, Ritual of Music, in 2000 and collaborated with musicians Hank Schroy and Vernon Reid of Living Colour and his second album, Orixás.

Tonight singer Áurea Martins will start the night at Rio Scenarium at 7:30PM by celebrating what would have been the 95th birthday of Elizeth Cardoso, Martins’ teacher and friend. Guitarist Luca Porto, bassist Pedro Aune, drummer Marcus Thadeu and keyboard Kiko Horta will accompany Martins during the tribute. Singer Sarah will follow at 10:30PM with the best of samba.

Tonight at Lapa’s Leviano bar it’s time to dance as the group Mano a Mano starts things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor. Later on the second floor the weekly Forró Leviano party will present a live performance by Estopim and Trio pé de Serra. Additionally, DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during the night.

Toninho Geraes and Nelson Felix (Lapa)
Tonight at 8:30 PM, Nelson Felix will start things off at Carioca da Gema with the best of samba. Then, composer and singer Toninho Geraes will follow at 10:30PM. Geraes has composed for artists including Martinho da Vila and Zeca Pagodinho and during his show tonight, he will sing their hits, as well as his own compositions. Additionally, he will reinterpret the works of Moacyr Luz, Paulinho da Viola, and Chico Buarque, among others.
