Second Edition of Oktoberfest Rio Will Again be Held at Marina da Glória

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Oktoberfest, a very traditional German festival, features its second edition in Rio de Janeiro, running from October 18th through 27th. Similarly to 2018, the six days of the event will once again be held at Marina da Glória, in Rio’s South Zone.

Further information has not yet been released, although the dates have already been confirmed. The event, with its official Facebook page already up and running, will be organized by Peck Produções in partnership with giant brewer Brahma and will provide ticket sales through the Ingresso Certo website. The price of tickets for the event has not yet been announced.

Rio de Janeiro band Barão Vermelho will be among the headline musical attractions.

Founded in 1814 by the Bavarian king Louis I to celebrate his birthday, Oktoberfest has become one of the main festivals in German culture around the world, spread through several countries. In Brazil, the main event is held in the South, more precisely in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, hosting more than 500,000 people annually.

This will be the second time that the festival is held in Rio de Janeiro with an entirely Germanic theme, from beers to gastronomy.
