Choosing a single model to provide 5G to all of Brazil is impossible – Oi CEO
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The president of Oi, Rodrigo Abreu, admitted on Thursday (16) that it is impossible to choose a single model to cover the whole country with 5G.
Abreu said that in addition to deploying “stand-alone” technology to cover major cities, it would be necessary to deploy other technologies such as 4G and Wi-Fi 6 to cover the entire country.
The CEO is participating in a panel discussion on 5G organized by Esfera Brasil.

Also present, Nokia Brazil President Ailton Santos said that 4G takes out of the equation the companies that cannot adapt, that “do not survive.”
According to him, 5G technology will bring the same survival paradigm that 4G brought to businesses, only for the industry.
